The course is primarily aimed at Managers and Supervisors with specific safety responsibilities. Leading Hands, foreman, HSRs and members of safety committees involved in health and safety activities would also benefit from attending this course.



Pre-entry Requirements:

This course aims to provide a deeper understanding of your potential role for participating in continual improvement of safety performance and behaviour in the workplace. It will provide skills and knowledge so that each safety leader can participate effectively in safety responsibilities and work towards the continual improvement of safety performance in their organisation. Topics covered include:

  • The importance of positive safety performance
  • Organisational safety culture
Systematic management of safety including:
  • Legislative responsibilities
  • Risk management processes
  • Consultation
  • Incident management
  • Contractor management


On completion of this course, participants will have an understanding of: 

  • The roles and responsibilities of Safety Leaders 
  • Risk management processes 
  • Consultation and incident management requirements 
  • The importance of safety in the workplace 
  • Organisational safety culture

This course is delivered by NSCA.

Unit of Competency

Certificate of Attendance will be issued to successful students on completion of course.

There is no formal assessment as part of this course. Upon successful completion, participants will be issued with a Certificate of Attendance.

Delivery Method:
Training will be delivered within a public training facility utilising theory and practical activities. Delivery will include instructor led presentations / scenarios.
