The course typically required by personnel from emergency services and/or volunteer organisations. FSA works mainly with corporate clients across many industries within various states and territories across Australia. It is envisioned that vast majority of students will be already within their job roles and as such have the foundation skills plus work place experience to support them within the learning and assessment stages of this course. Typically, people performing this role have completed induction or recruit training and are commencing work as a member of an operational team Our nationally accredited Tower Rescue Training course is designed for personnel whom may be required to perform one on one - top down rappel rescues from towers, cranes, bridges or similar platforms. The individual will work under supervision in a team but may be responsible for completing individual tasks relating to a rescue.
Please note: it would be beneficial for participants to have experience and/or training in working safely at heights



Pre-entry Requirements:
Fitness to Participate declaration
Enclosed shoes or appropriate safety footwear.
PPE Clothing appropriate to site requirements
USI that can be verified to ensure release of Statement of Attainment
Sufficient language, literacy and numeracy skills to complete the course.
HLTAID003 Provide first aid * #

# PUAEME001B will be awarded on RPL where the participant has provided HLTAID003 Provide first aid. Where the participant fails to provide the entry requirement Units of Competency evidence, no Statement of Attainment will be awarded.

Evidence of each participant holding the above competencies must be provided prior to entry into the course.

This training course develops the skills of personnel to complete a complex rope rescue on their own using rope rescue equipment and tower climbing equipment. This training provides personnel with training to combat various types of onsite emergencies. Following the training course, the emergency response team shall be capable of responding and controlling various rope rescue on-site emergencies, as such this rescue focused course is not designed for general "Tower" workers.

Unit of Competency

PUASAR022 Participate in a rescue operation

Students learning outcomes will be assessed using practical activities designed to simulate the work environment and written questions as appropriate. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be issued with a Statement of Attainment.

Delivery Method:
Classroom theory via PowerPoint presentations, including audio-visual material, practical desktop activities and discussion. Practical components using height safety equipment in a range of work simulated scenarios and a number of different rescue activities using pre-rigged rescue systems.
