This nationally recognised course describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty. The unit applies to all workers who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, include community and workplace settings. There are legislated requirements in each state in relation to this training. These requirements will be documented in each states approved code of practice for first aid.

Pre-course Workbook

In order for FSA to deliver this course in 1 day it is a requirement that the Pre-course workbook be completed prior to the course commencement. There is a questionnaire that needs to be answered so as part of your pre-course preparation; you will be required to complete and bring these with you to the course as evidence that you have completed the pre entry requirement. Without this evidence you will be unable to participate in the 1 Day Provide First Aid course.

  • Spinal, head and facial injuries
  • Asthma and anaphylaxis
  • Diabetes
  • Stroke

Units of Competency

HLTAID002 Provide basic emergency life support

HLTAID001 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation

HLTAID003 Provide first aid

Assessment:
Assessment of this course is through completion of a pre-course workbook, written and practical assessment which includes the observation of students participating in a range of first aid scenarios. Upon successful completion of the course students will be issued with a Statement of Attainment

Delivery Method:
Classroom theory via PowerPoint or the issued learner resource including use of audio-visual material and practical activities.
