Fire Safety Adviser Re-certification
The course is designed for current (QLD) Fire Safety Advisers (FSA) who desire to continue in the role as a FSA and become re-certified.
The prerequisite for this course is the successful completion of a Fire Safety Advisor course. Refresher course can only be attended within 3 years of original date of Fire Safety Advisor course, if original course date is outside 3 years the full Fire Safety Advisor course must be done again as per the ‘Building Fire Safety Regulation 2008’.

Participants gain the skills and knowledge needed to actively continue in their role and responsibilities of a Fire Safety Adviser in accordance with the Queensland Building Fire Safety Regulation 2008 and addresses recent amendments to the legislation. The Fire Safety Adviser will be able to advise on appropriate emergency planning strategies and be familiar with aspects of building fire safety.

- Fire Safety Adviser Legislative and Regulatory requirements
- Identify fire safety installations equipment in a building
- Maintenance and records pertaining to fire safety
- Understanding the emergency planning process
- Understanding the role and responsibilities of Emergency Control Organisation members and the Emergency Planning Committee
- Practical Fire Extinguisher refresher training
- Practical Incident Control and Chief Warden scenarios

PUAFER006 Lead an emergency control organisation
PUAFER001 Identify, prevent and report potential facility emergency situations
PUAFER002 Ensure facility emergency prevention procedures, systems and processes are implemented
PUAFER003 Manage and monitor facility emergency procedures, equipment and other resources
PUAFER008 Confine small emergencies in a facility
PUAFER005 Operate as part of an emergency control organisation
PUAFER004 Respond to facility emergencies
PUAFER007 Manage an emergency control organisation
Theoretical and practical assessments are conducted throughout the course. Upon successful completion students will be issued with a Statement of Attainment which meets the competency requirements set by Queensland Fire and Rescue Service for appointment as a Fire Safety Adviser.
Training will be delivered within a public training facility utilising theory and practical activities. Delivery will include instructor led presentations / scenarios. This course is available in QLD only.
