Confined Space Courses
Enter and Work in Confined Spaces - 1 Day
This course covers entering and working in confined spaces in resources and infrastructure industries. It includes planning and preparing for entry of confined spaces; entry and working in confined spaces, exiting confined spaces and cleaning up.
Enter Confined Space - 2 Days
This course applies to persons who are required to enter confined spaces for maintenance purposes, for cleaning, inspection or other reasons. It is required by all persons who are required to enter a confined space. Participants will learn to complete hazard identifications, risk assessments and work permits for confined space operations and how to operate various confined space safety equipment. Practical entries into confined spaces will be made and practical rescue scenarios will also be covered. As defined by the Australian Standard 2865-2009 reassessment is required ‘at appropriate intervals’. The industry regards reassessment on a two to three year cycle as good practice.
This unit includes:
- Australian Standards & relevant legislation
- Identify confined spaces
- Hazard identification, risk assessments and hierarchy of controls Worksite & safety policies & procedures Roles & responsibilities of management & employees Checking the preparations against the permit conditions Atmospheric monitoring and gas detection Tripods, VED’s & fall protective equipment Lockout Tagout & methods of isolation Emergency procedures Preparing to enter the confined space Entering the confined space
Enter Confined Space - Basic
Our confined space training courses are nationally recognised training courses and are taught through the Manufacturing Training Package and the Resources and Infrastructure Training Package.
Enter Confined Space Refresher
This course is designed for students who are required to be re-assessed in entering a confined space, for maintenance purposes, for cleaning, inspection or other reasons. It is required by all students who are required to enter a confined space, as defined by the standard AS2865 requires reassessment 'at appropriate intervals'. The industry regards reassessment on a two to three year cycle as good practice.
Gas Test Atmospheres
Gas test atmospheres course is designed for students who could be required to undertake routine procedures requiring the use of portable atmospheric monitoring equipment. The successful student will be competent to work in situations requiring the use of portable atmospheric monitoring equipment.
Introduction to Confined Space Rescue
This introductory course provides guidance and outlines procedures for people who required a basic understanding and knowledge of confined space rescues in the preparations, risk assessments, performing of rescues and concluding rescue operations to a basic level.
Undertake Confined Space Rescue
This course covers the competency to undertake rescue in confined spaces as a member of a single agency or multi-disciplinary team.
